BS

Bullshit is everywhere. However, it seems my exposure to or perhaps my sensitivity to bullshit has heightened. I just don't understand how people in positions of authority can get away with so much of it.

Some individuals are professionals in bullshit production. It seems bullshit is all they have to offer. Incapable of being honest and "real" they perpetually spew their bullshit at anyone who will take it.

All of us are guilty of creating bullshit. No one is exempt. At some point in our lives each of us will succumb to the temptation. Thus, it is important to remember the following:

Bullshit is messy. It is difficult to manage.
Bullshit is heavy. It weighs people down. It inhibits progress, most often for those at whom it is directed.

Bullshit stinks. Have you ever been around a bullshitter? Someone who has done nothing but hand you bullshit the entire time you have known them? Do you ever think, "Man, this person stinks? Everything they say is bullshit. They are never honest. Why? Who knows? Because of this, the person literally begins to stink. Their attitude stinks. Their comments stink. Their opinion stinks. Their actions stink. Everything about them stinks!

Bullshit is a waste of time and I hate it when people waste my time. Have you ever noticed once a bullshitter starts they often have difficulty stopping? They just keep going and going and going. Five minutes passes, ten followed by thirty. Bullshitters are rarely respectful of others' time or obligations because, in their minds, their purpose (producing and spewing more bullshit) is superior to whatever endeavor you are engaged in.

Its sad how many people forget these simple, yet, vital truths. I am confident, without it, the world would be a better place. People would be happier. Relationships would improve. Stress levels would decrease. Without bullshit world peace may actually be attainable. Perhaps I am wrong but isn't it worth a try? I mean, doesn't everyone wish for world peace?!

What I don't understand about bullshit is, why do we continue to sit in quiet observation watching bullshit fly instead of standing up and crying, "Enough!" Why does contemporary society tolerate bullshit while condemning those who identify it?

Each day I dream of being brave, of rising up and calling those guilty of bullshitting out, especially those who live for the opportunity of dumping their bullshit on others. Instead, I continue to sit in frustrated silence praying my circumstances will improve. That one day I can rise above the bullshit I am forced to navigate. I do not delude myself into thinking one can escape its effects. Bullshit may sink but even those above it are exposed to and effected by the smell because bullshit, you see, is everywhere.
